Moirae Foundation is a roleplaying game, or Realm, based at the chat site State of Insanity. Players take on the role of characters in a gritty, dystopian, cyberpunk society ruled by monolithic megacorporations. The Moirae Foundation is primary among these corporate entities: a global telecommunications and entertainment giant that controls the vast majority of cyberspace and televised media.
Technology has quickly evolved to include such concepts as cybernetics, cyberspace, bioengineering, and even fringe science; society is rushing to catch up to these advances as quickly as possible- and failing miserably. Everywhere you look, the powerful are grinding down anyone who gets in their way in the struggle to the top. Power, greed, ambition- it's a game of predator and prey, with the vast majority of the world's population being sheep.
Characters live, fight, love, struggle, and die at the hands of the players writing them. In these early periods of the game, most of the characters are street level operatives of the Moirae Foundation. These disenfranchised citizens are just a step above the lower classes, selling what few skills they have to the Moirae Foundation in exchange for money and recognition. These men and women accept dangerous and anonymous missions, whoring themselves out to the corporation on the dirty streets of Chiba, Japan. Sometimes these operatives battle one another in sponsored death matches. In other cases, they're sent to eliminate groups of criminals or nests of mutants in televised blood baths. Elite operatives even perform corporate espionage, assassinations, and data theft. These missions are often televised for the viewing pleasure of the numb, dirty masses, and operatives can quickly rise to a certain fame- much like a favorite sports hero or gladiator.
As the game grows, more character types and situations will become available. Corporate employees, researchers, criminals, politicians- these are all potential additions in the future of the Moirae Foundation game.
There is a lot of information available for this game, and it will continue to grow. I understand that can seem daunting, but I assure you it isn't! Most of what you need to know to play is located in a few key areas, the rest is optional, but helpful. If you are an experienced roleplayer at State of Insanity, I suggest you begin with these links:

Moirae Foundation is a collaborative setting. It will grow with the players and everyone is welcome to contribute. Your character's actions will be noticed by others and his activities will reverberate throughout the fiction.
